A voluntary salary cap encourages the people who earn the money in a capitalist society to share it with others–without government involvement. Many, many Americans already share some part of their income with others.
A voluntary salary cap offers a structure for the wealthiest Americans to live within a certain amount (it varies based on the cost of living in their city), that will allow them to live in a nice house, send their children to great schools, and enjoy things like fine dinners and vacations.
